Our committed team have experience as Independent Counsel for investigatory bodies such as the Police, Prison Services and Trading Standards.
The team will advise on all matters of Legal Professional Privilege from the point of search onwards, including attendance at such searches when appropriate. Counsel have worked extensively with a number of Local Authorities and Charities such as Child Line, regarding issues of Public Interest Immunity in criminal cases.
Working from a secure and dedicated Disclosure Room, our team offers the fully integrated and confidential service that dealing with such sensitive materials demands.
Legal Professional Privileged material is seized by investigators in many forms. Increasingly such material is contained within electronic media. Our team is trained, experienced and fully-licensed in Forensic Triage using the ADF System – the market-leader in rapid search, evidence recovery and intelligence extraction. This means that Special Counsel will take possession and analyse devices; filtering out all protected data. It will significantly reduce the risk of legal challenge on grounds of Privilege and will also save investigatory bodies’ time and resources.
